The Concept of Freedom

Home of the brave, land of the free used to mean something. Sadly it no longer does. Our freedoms, your freedoms are being stripped from you every day and all you fucking sheep do is sit and piss and moan about inane shit that really doesn’t matter. How did we become a nation where it is acceptable for a young man to be arrested, taken by force from his home, and kept away from his parents? Guilty or not isn’t the issue (although I suspect the child is innocent and caught up in a prank), the issue is that this teen and his family, residing here in the good ole US of A, have absolutely no recourse and are not being told a thing. The patriot act has been a bad idea since it’s enception. Giving law enforcement, the government, the fucking ability to walk all over the fucking Constitution whenever they see fit is a mistake and something our fore fathers warned about over 200 fucking years ago. But people just aren’t the same as they were back then.
I seriously doubt there are people willing to die for the concept of freedom any more. People have become sheep and just want to sleep in the warm glow of the federal government without realizing that their lovers warmth is likely to strike out at them on a mere whim.
And since this was done under the guise of the Patriot Act it means that the childs family have absolutely no recourse. He can be held indefinately with out trial, without representation, without a prayer. Hope you sleep well tonight with the thought that the government can and will come into your home and take a child, your spouse or anything else on a whim. No search warrant required. No review of the facts necessary. If law enforcements see it as a threat and can somehow tie it into national security… oh wait since no one really has to review this, no judge to issue a warrant it really doesn’t even have to tie into national security or be a genuine threat. It can be a bad dream a fucking FBI agent had the night before from drinking too much.
But hell, the judicial system can take all of your rights away without the Patriot Act. Have you heard about the mother and son who are now running from justice. A part of a nationwide manhunt. Why? Because the son has cancer and the courts have decided what is best for the boy is chemotherapy. The parents disagree and so the rub.
The courts and by extension the government is making a determination of what is best for someone’s child and is hell bent on forcing their will onto the family.
The family belongs to a religous group that believes in natural healing methods and they and their child want to follow the tenant of their religion and because so they are now a part of a national man hunt. Well, or in this case, a national mother and child hunt.
Who the fuck is the government to decide what is best for your child… and this could very well be your child or your life. What’s the next step? Where does the government draw the line on determining how you live your life and what you believe in?
Why is this ok? Why aren’t people as fucking pissed off as I am?
I trust our founding fathers would be completely ashamed of what we have become. A nation that lives behind a word that they have no fucking idea of what it means.
