Craigslist and Prostitution… Oh My
Cook county sheriff, Tom Dart (think Chicago Il.) has proclaimed Craigslist as the single largest source of prostitution in the nation and is suing the website for $100,000 to reimburse the sheriff’s department for the time spent pursuing a "Craigslist" investigation over the last year. He later stated that he could make arrests 24 hours a day just from the online classifieds company. This according to WGN news. The story also adds a bunch of bull shit about some poor chick who answered an ad on craigslist to do some modeling and somehow got turned out as a prostitute. Ya fucking right.
First, if you can make arrests, why the fuck aren’t you making them. The article says you want to "go up the ladder" but in this case there simply is no ladder. Craigslist isn’t doing anything wrong, it’s simply a place where you can post free classifieds. It’s the girls working as prostitutes who are committing the crime (although prostitution is one of stupidest crimes I can think of).
But I agree, check them out sheriff dude because I’m sure there is more crime going on than a little pussy being sold. Check out the ads for yourself, maybe you’ll get lucky but probably you’ll get burnt. You’ll find ads like this one
